Abstract
The study of energy saving lighting in the classrooms aliases on the pupil area comparing coefficient K (Ap), the luminance contrast coefficient based on pupil change R (L)p, It is shown that, to achieve the same visual performance (with the equal pupil area), 6500K and 4000K color temperature fluorescent lamps are needed to generate less luminance than 2700K, and also save more energy. Therefore, the appropriate color temperature light source is concerned with energy saving lighting in classrooms.
