Abstract :
Fuzzy techniques can represent a comprehensive framework for intelligent instrumentation which deals with multisensory input data. Addressing the task of data fusion, this paper shows how flexible processing strategies can be implemented by resorting to a fuzzy approach. The general structure of a fuzzy system for information fusion is described and the adoption of different classes of fuzzy aggregation connectives discussed. Examples of application to both cases of 1-D and 2-D data are presented
