Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. A system has been designed for investigation of ionizing particles impulse beams and plasma parameters. A radiation-acoustical method is applied. The radiation-acoustical method is based on the stimulation of thermoacoustical oscillations by interaction of impulse beams with the substance of the target. The effect of being stimulated by thermoelastic stresses /spl sigma/(x,t) at the point x at time t is defined by: /spl sigma/(x,t)=/sup /spl gamma////sub 2/E(x-st) where /spl gamma/ is the parameter of generation, which depends of the target geometry and on thermoelastic and thermophysical characteristics of the target substance; E(x-t) is the energy density being secreted by impulse beam inside the target substance; s is the sound speed. The diagnostic complex consists of the target made-up of the substance with certain thermoelastic and thermophysical characteristics; a set of acoustical detectors made-up of piezoceramics; a signal amplifier; a converter. The diagnostic complex measures the average beam energy; the intensity at the beam location in space; the longitude of the beam impulse and other parameters.
