Abstract
Increasing integration of wind power into electric power system has changed conventional operation, reserve capacity and reliability of the system. This paper analyzes the impact that wind power brings to distribution system on its reliability with application of analytic methods. Capacity models are proposed to represent wind power generators. A case study is given with different wind energy conditions, operation conditions and wind power penetration. It is shown by the results that wind power could improve reliability of the distribution system, and the equivalent relationship between wind power and conventional power is evaluated.
