  • Abstract
    Two kinds of outfields (thermal and ultrasonic fields) were applied to pretreat the municipal sludge and the results were examined by the indexes of SCOD and PH. The “Hua´s 0.618 optimization method” was used to find out the optimum conditions when the sludge was treated with the outfields independently and orderly. It can be seen from the results that as the temperature goes high and the treating-time by the ultrasound goes long, the SCOD shows the trend of linear and exponent growth. When the two outfields affect independently, the optimum condition is 107°C by thermal and 55min by ultrasound with the raise of SCOD by 235.55% and 140.04% respectively. When the two outfields affect orderly, thermal-first shows advantage with the raise of SCDO by 337.40% to 297.71%. Meanwhile, there is no obvious difference in PH.
