Abstract
In this paper, a fast voltage control scheme for PWM voltage source power converters applying a feedback linearization technique is proposed. First, a nonlinear system modeling is derived with state variables of the input current and the output voltage by using the power balance of the input and output. By input-output feedback linearization, the system is linearized and decoupled, and then a state feedback law is obtained. For robust control to parameter perturbation, integrators are added to the exact feedback control law. With this nonlinear control scheme, output voltage responses become faster than those in cascade control structures. Thus, the size of the output filter capacitor can be much reduced since fast voltage control is feasible. As with usual PWM power converters, in addition, the input current is regulated in a sinusoidal waveform and the input power factor is kept at unity. The simulation and experimental results are provided to verify the validity of the control algorithm.
