Abstract
A control scheme is presented which allows control of a push-pull converter operating in boost and buck modes with seamless transformation between modes. Independent charge mode control on each leg of the push-pull converter allows one control scheme to be used for control in regions where the sensed current is both monotonically increasing (buck mode) and also where the current is not monotonically increasing (boost mode). With one error voltage, flux balance in the transformer is maintained over all operating modes. Experimental measurements are performed to verify the model.
