  • Abstract
    This paper presents the basic concept and the field test results of the equalization distributed translator (EDTxR). EDTxRs transmit output signal on the same frequency among translators to redistribute a transmitter signal but do not use the frequency reference from the GPS satellite to synchronize each translator´s output frequency. Moreover, EDTxR does not need any additional device or equipment to make the translators´ output symbols to be identical and any change of already deployed transmitters. The field test which was conducted at the downtown Ottawa, Canada with 2 synchronized EDTxRs resulted in a better performance compared with a single translator.
