Abstract :
In this paper, we present a low complexity impulse radio UWB system suitable to sensor network applications where the low power consumption and low hardware cost and complexity are strongly needed. This UWB system is based on an energy detection receiver associated with a simple transmitter using SRD based impulse generation. An experimental platform has been realized with success. This platform can transmit more than 10 Mbits/s over several meters. An IR UWB signal coding scheme (TFS = trembling fixed sequence) is also proposed which can result in very simple and energy efficient CMOS friendly implementation in a low data rate sensor networking context.
