Abstract :
Integrated Mobile Broadcast (IMB) is a technology recently standardized by 3GPP for delivery of broadcast multimedia via a cellular network. IMB is based on WCDMA technology but particularly designed for deployment in 3G TDD spectrum. It employs downlink-only channels using SFN methods, which greatly increase spectral efficiency and capacity for broadcast services. In this paper, we firstly provide a brief overview of 1MB, before demonstrating the system capacity through extensive simulations. Discussion towards optimising the end-to-end system performance is also presented.
