  • Abstract
    Designing a Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Vestigial Side Band (VSB), Phase Locked Loop (PLL) Synthesized Television (TV) Broadcasting Exciter according to Consultative Committee on International Radio (CCIR) standard is a challenge, when it is required to achieve low capital cost, operational cost and maximum power efficiency. This paper presents a successful approach to design a TV Exciter which generates a Radio Frequency signal in the UHF band and compatible with TV system B/G. This can cover the all channels in the UHF band between channel 21 and channel 62 (470MHz to 806MHz) with a sufficient output power to drive a UHF power amplifier. The VSB modulation technique saves both the spectrum bandwidth and the transmission power. This system consists of a management system which is used to control and monitor the system.
