Abstract :
Mobile ad hoc networking technologies have increasingly been applied to civilian applications, in areas in which there is little or no communication infrastructure or the existing infrastructure is expensive or inconvenient to use, wireless mobile users will still be able to communicate through the formation of a MANET. Since the advent of wireless communication, the need for mobile ad hoc networks has been growing exponentially. In this paper we have examined and presented simulation results for the routing protocols AODV and ZRP, especially focusing at ZRP and the impact of some of its most important attribute network performance, using well known network simulator NS2. Here we concentrate more on evaluating the performance of AODV and ZRP using the convergence time as the metric.
