Abstract
An optical resonator with off-axial injection is investigated. Analytic descriptions of the relations between various system parameters and beam parameters are obtained. Theoretical results show that extraction of 20 nA of TRIUMF´s H- beam by laser stripping is certainly possible, but the quality and stability of the extracted beam is quite sensitive to the precision of the assembly and the stability of the operating environment. An enhancement factor ⩾55 is possible with 80 trapped pulses if the mirror reflectivity ⩾99%
