Abstract
The telecommunication industry has seen a major transition over the last decade. There has been a steady shift from voice to video communication which includes video calls, television streaming and video on demand services. The introduction of Next Generation Networks has led to the convergence of fixed and mobile devices. These devices have different capabilities such as different screen sizes and are connected through different access networks and support different codecs. Due to these differences it is impossible to stream a single video format to all devices. In this paper we present a real time video adaption framework which allows end users and network operators to transmit video frames between any devices with real time video quality adaptation. This paper also describes the framework implementation and test results that would enable network operators to enhance the end user´s Quality of Experience.
