Abstract
A wide band metamaterial based electrically small L-shaped monopole antenna is proposed for the application of Wimax and Wifi. It is easy to fabricate due to planar and compact structure. The coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed is used to provide better bandwidth. The bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 2.5789 GHz. Compactness of antenna is achieved by using ring resonator having a metamaterial property.
