Abstract :
Parameter identification is critical for high performance control strategies in which both dynamic performance and energy efficiency are expected. This paper describes the methodology of identifying the parameters of an induction motor in electric drive applications. The authors use operating data to estimate the parameters, therefore obtaining a more realistic representation of the parameters. As most of the parameters vary with the operating conditions, the authors show that a mapping exists between the operating conditions and the motor parameters
