Abstract
In China, right-turn vehicles are not restricted to signal lights at many intersections. In order to reveal their influences on traffic flow, the conflicts between right-turn vehicles and straight ones at signalized intersections are discussed in detail. And the behaviors of different kinds of traffic flow are analyzed based on cellular automaton model. Simulation results indicate that the turning behaviors of right-turn vehicles will impede the normal motions of straight vehicles and that vehicles usually form some surges of traffic flow. This model reproduces some realistic phenomenon effectively and can be used in more complex traffic environment.
