  • Abstract
The performance of 3.5 MHz/96ch 0.2mm pitch phased array using multi-layered PMN-PT single crystal/polymer composites was investigated. The bandwidth of multi-layered PMN-PT/polymer composites phased array is about 120% and this is about 50% broader than that of PZT ceramics probe. And sensitivity of multilayer PMN-PT/polymer composites phased array is about 6dB higher than that of PZT ceramics. Because of low acoustical cross-talk, the measured directivity of multi-layered PMN-PT/polymer composites phased array is almost 100% with respect to theoretical value using CW theory. The variation range of sensitivity between element to element is about 3dB and this is almost same with PZT ceramic probe. The average sensitivity variation between lot to lot of multilayered PMN-PT/polymer phased array is about 2dB
