Abstract
When the car-following model is used to formulate vehicle flows crossed by pedestrians at random different locations on roads, some issues arising need be dealt with in detail. This paper discusses several of these issues, including the model process, the safe criterion, the influence of pedestrian crossing on the acceleration, velocity and displace of the upstream nearest vehicle, and the rule stopping vehicles at signal intersection. By numerical simulations, the effects of pedestrian arrival interval and safety coefficient on the delays of both vehicles and pedestrians are analyzed.
