Abstract
A new robust performance controller design method based on μ synthesis is put forward on the analysis of dynamic setup AGC model and engineering practice in hot strip mill. Even though there´s perturbation in stiffness, the performance required by the system with the controller should be all the same. By introducing fictive uncertainty, the problem that design of the controller to satisfy the performance requirement with the model perturbation inside is transformed into the robust stability problem of the augmented system. Compared with H-infinity method, the method is more effective because of its design target reflecting the control target precisely. In the end, simulation with the practical data proves dynamic setup AGC system with the method can achieve more robust performance than that of H-infinity method.
