  • Abstract
    A new scheme of cascaded inverter configuration with separated filters is proposed in this paper. Compared to the structure with centralized filter, it has the same output performance and can be further modularized. Furthermore, it has better fault tolerance ability when open circuit of switches occurred, thus the reliability is enhanced. Analysis based on a four-cell cascaded inverter with separated filters using the CPS-SPWM modulation strategy is given, and comparison with the one with centralized filter is also investigated. Simulation and experimental results are presented to validate the conclusions.
