Abstract :
The boundary element method has been successfully applied to surface acoustic wave device modelling and simulation by discretizing the underlying integral equations. Thereby, it has been shown that appropriate choice of basis- and weighting functions critically determines the robustness, efficiency and the accuracy of the numerical results we obtain. Conventionally, pulse functions are preferred choice due to their functional simplicity and the resulting convenience of implementation. Frames and the associated dual frames represent generalization of the concepts of bases and wavelets for analysing and approximating functions in boundary value problems. In this paper we reinforce that it is possible to construct frames from impulse response of linear time invariant systems such as SAW devices
