  • Abstract
Wind Power generation has became most popular alternate energy source now a days. Although there will be very large wind power installations, the installations of small-scale wind turbines will most likely proceed. Small WTs, 1 MW and below have been developed successfully using the fixed speed small regulated concept, and will probably dominate the small turbine market also in the near future. For individual installations, flicker contribution can be the limiting factor from a stall controlled wind turbines. In case of wound rotor induction generator the rotor resistance is used to control the speed in a limited range which results as increase in absorption torque fluctuation and flicker emission. For implementation such idea Comparison of various closed loop controlled schemes with proper tuned different controller is employed. MATLAB/ Simulink using control system SISO tools based work is carried out for 1 MW machine. Proposed scheme may be used for low cost variable speed wind energy conversion system.
