Abstract
In this paper the influence of a stationary white noise on the estimation of a sine-wave amplitude by means of the three-point Interpolated Discrete Fourier Transform (IpDFT) method is investigated. The expression of the amplitude estimator variance is derived when the H-term maximum sidelobe decay window (H ¿ 2) is employed. Based on the derived expression the statistical efficiency of the three-point IpDFT method with respect to the unbiased Cramer-Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) is analyzed. Computer simulations confirm the accuracy of the derived expression for the amplitude estimator variance.
