  • Abstract
Dynamic deployment of collaborative components on mobile devices like PDA or Smartphone is a research issue and a technological challenge. Our approach aims to minimize the management actions a user has to undertake to deploy on his device the necessary software for collaborative applications. We aim for this to allow automated dynamic deployment appropriately to the user´s device characteristics and to his expressed preferences. The goal of this paper is to present our results in this context. We present a service-oriented architecture we designed and a profile mechanism taking into account both the user preferences and his device characteristics. This profile allows a given user to discover the appropriate set of components or services according to his attributes, as required for advanced session management in collaborative applications. A prototype was developed as a demonstrator of ubiquitous collaboration for the European project ITEA2-USENET which aims to provide a universal, generic and standardized technical foundation for application deployment to promote the use of Machine to Machine (M2M) technologies.
