Abstract
The paper describes a single-board ionizing-radiation monitor which uses HM65162 SRAMs as sensors. They are sensitive to single event upsets and latchups, and can thus detect highly ionizing radiation and alarm in case of excess radiation conditions, like heavy solar flares. The monitor is a low cost, low weight (230 grams), extremely low power consumption (<15 /spl mu/W) unit and is easily implanted in any satellite. It will serve on board of TechSAT, the Technion satellite.
