Abstract
Summarises 6 years´ experience using the world wave and wind data from the GEOSAT satellite altimeter within the altimeter group in Trondheim, Norway. Validation of the altimeter wind and wave products is described and correction algorithms currently in use are given. A selection of applications for which these data have been used are described, taking us from low lying coral atolls of the tropical Pacific to sub-arctic storm laden Norwegian waters
