DCS (distributed control system) or PLC (programmable logic controller) is not an age old question, nonetheless it has been a troubling one for most engineers over the last few years. This paper attempts to make engineers aware of the features (good and bad) of PLC and DCS based systems, in order to provide some help in making cement plant control system choices
