Abstract
Two dimensional autocorrelation estimator (2D ACE) has been initiated to suppress the high variability of one dimensional autocorrelation estimator (1D ACE) in displacement estimation. A thorough discussion of the statistics of 2D ACE, including the theoretical analysis, simulation will be presented in this paper. The approximately efficient property of 2D ACE and the Cramer Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) is shown. A new sampling strategy of displacement estimation
