Abstract
This paper discusses launch of the energy market in 2005 and the ancillary services market in 2009. Despite the growth in demand resource participation in the Midwest ISO markets since the launch of the Ancillary Services Market (ASM) and Resource-Adequacy requirements, more can be done to enhance opportunities for demand response and the positive impacts it creates for all involved in the wholesale bulk power markets.
