  • Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show the possibility of designing a high power SAW filter by ordinary SAW filters. The authors propose using N2 (where N is a natural number bigger than 1) pieces of identical SAW filters to compose a series-parallel (or parallel-series) connection SAW filter system which has the same electrical characteristics as a single one but durable enough to have high power. In experimenting, we used 4 (=2×2) pieces of 800 MHz band SAW filters to compose a series-parallel connection SAW filter system which can endure up to 8.0 W input power for more than 30 minutes without damage. From this result, the authors draw the conclusion that a super high power SAW filter can be obtained by increasing the number N 2 of the filter and composing in the way described
