Abstract :
The computing technology trend is changing at a rapid pace over centralized computing, personal computing, mobile computing, and ubiquitous computing. Traditional application and services were providing functionalities whose behavior remains unaltered at runtime. In the recent past in the view of providing rich user experience in the application and services, they are modeled in a way to behave according to a situation. By collecting and using context data from various sources including information from users, services, devices and networks, applications can be made to be aware of involved entities´ contexts thus enriching experience to the users. In this paper, we describe CAPAS platform which provides context awareness capabilities to the applications in way to reduce the application design complexity to sense and act on different situations.
