  • Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to develop a multiple regression equation to predict judo performance with the help of selected structural measures and body composition variables namely standing height, sitting height, total leg length, upper arm girth, thigh girth, calf girth, chest lean body mass and percentage of body fat. Forty six male judo players of Inter-University level were randomly selected as subjects and were subjected to the above said measurements. The judo performance was the average of the ratings given by three qualified judo coaches on given criteria. To construct the regression equation the collected data on judo performance and selected structural measures including body composition variables were treated as dependent and independent variables respectively. Thereafter multiple correlation and step down regression were computed. On the basis of the findings, the following conclusions have been drawn; the lean body mass (LBM), upper-fore arm ratio (UFAR) and sitting height (SH) are the most important predicting variables under the limitations of this study and finally contributed to the multiple regression equation to predict judo performance with considerable efficiency
