Abstract :
Pulse modulators generate high power pulses which are used for various industrial applications. This paper discusses the numerical validation of pulse transformer used in a pulse modulator wherein the pulse is created by switching on a capacitor in parallel to the pulse transformer using a solid state switch. The pulse transformer is connected to resistive load. The numerical validation was undertaken to understand the effects of air gap in the assembled pulse transformer.
