Abstract :
Mobile communication systems needs higher and higher transfert data rate. MIMO technology promises a linear increase of capacity in function of the minimum antenna number in transmission and reception. In order to test if these performances can be actually met in mobile communications, we propose here two MIMO antenna systems made of two PIFA elements in a ground plane whose dimensions are compatible with a mobile phone. These antennas are siutable for MIMO use by their low diagram correlation (<0.2). We also estimate MIMO capacity performances in urban cellular environment for these antennas.
