Abstract
This paper reports demining procedures involving metal detectors and concludes that a target depth indication, even if crude, would be a useful innovation. The paper reports a preliminary investigation of a frequency domain method which could be incorporated in current metal detectors. The results suggest that the method could provide the required performance, but further development work is needed
