Abstract
Work done by H.K. Kwan and C.I. Lee (see IEEE Trans. Aerospace and Electronic Systems, vol. 29, p. 9-21, 1993) is examined and compared to the classical biphase pulse compression technique. The common biphase pulse compression techniques are not very robust against intra-pulse Doppler distortions. The neural net method is examined for robustness against intra-pulse Doppler. Results are discussed and future possibilities are given. The method of calculating the neural net weights is given in the work and provides the reader with enough information to design nets for this application
