Abstract
Successive-erasure decoding can be considered as a soft-decision decoding technique for RS codes. An information indicating the success of decoding is needed when forward error correction is combined with ARQ. We present an upper bound for error detection with a successive-erasure decoding algorithm. Results are used to design a RS coded OFDM system for wireless ATM
