Abstract :
Visual tracking using multi resolution template matching is described. Multiple image windows of varying sizes and resolutions are implemented on a network of digital signal processors, which operate cooperatively to detect and track a moving target in real time. The window sizes and positions are adjusted according to the dynamics of the measured target motion, and cooperative algorithms are implemented for target detection and lock-on, tracking and recovery from loss of tracking. The application is the real time visual guidance of an industrial robot
