Abstract
Matrix converter inherently exhibits sinusoidal input current waveforms and has less stressful output voltage waveforms. This paper proposes to integrate the matrix converter with filters that provide lower EMI, lower common-mode current, and lower shaft voltage. These features in combination with the inherently low current harmonic at the input of the matrix converter help achieve drive systems that cause less pollution of the surrounding electromagnetic environment
