Abstract :
The performance of an adaptive beamforming algorithm, which uses the pilot channel and is suitable for the cdma2000 reverse link, was evaluated previously (see Lim, S.-H. et al., Proc. VTC2001 Spring, 2001). It updates the weight vector through the complex normalized least mean square algorithm with the pilot channel, and applies the weight vector to the traffic channel at the traffic symbol rate. However, it is degraded by the channel estimation error, especially in a fading channel. Therefore, we propose a new algorithm, using the pilot and traffic channels, which calculates the weight vector more precisely. In addition, the proposed beamforming algorithm has a robust characteristic against channel estimation error. Through simulation, the performance is compared with the previous method, and evaluated.
