Abstract :
This paper treats about the estimation of rain intensity in the Basque Country, when analyzing the results obtained using various interpolation algorithms to rain intensity samples distributed in the geography of this region. The not exceeded more than 0.01% of the time of any month of the average year at every site of the study with integration period of one minute rain intensity has been used as interpolation variable. These values have been obtained by means of the cumulative long-dated (more than 10 years) distributions of the rain rate at each location. Several interpolation methods and four groups of different sized interpolation surfaces have been analyzed. Estimations made with each of the methods and each of the interpolation surfaces have been compared. The results have been represented in contour maps and surface maps.
