Abstract :
Cloud Computing has gained momentum in the IT world, due to its inherent elasticity that allows flexible on-demand computing resources such as CPU time, memory and storage size. However, Cloud security is a challenge. In this paper, we leverage Cloud services to design C-SCIT (Cloud-based Self-Cleansing Intrusion Tolerant) scheme that can provide enhanced intrusion tolerance to applications and services deployed in the Cloud. Challenges and issues of such an approach are analyzed against the traditional implementation, which relies solely on servers internal to an organization. We will show how we can control and adapt the design to satisfy different levels of intrusion tolerance.
