  • Abstract
    Workers who perform catalyst replacement inside chemical reactors face life-threatening risks. This paper describes a system designed for safeguarding workers working in the confined chemical reactors at the Formosa Petrochemical Corporation´s refinery plant. The system monitors the status of every worker by continuously receiving radio frequency signal and detects life-threatening events quickly and effectively.
