Abstract :
Isothermal surface potential decay and thermally stimulated discharge (TSD) are performed with amorphous polymer teflon AF films, which is a new member of the teflon family with a lot of unique features. The experimental results show that the charge retention in this material is quite good as long as the field across the films is not too high. Heat treatment before and after charging changes the TSD peaks and consequently the charge stability for negative charging. In the case of positive charging, a more significant effect occurs when the sample is charged at elevated temperatures
