Abstract
Precision Time synchronization Protocol (PTP) is a time synchronization protocol within the range of the sub-microsecond (10-6 s). Using the PTP, a desktop computer can synchronize with the Grand Master. In this study, a time-interval measurement system is realized. The central components of the time-interval measurement system in this study are the receiver interface of desktop computer. We utilize the RS232 and the printer port of the desktop computer as two receiver interfaces. Two channel signals can be feed into the desktop computer via the two receiver interface. Finally, we create the function of TIC with a desktop computer within the range of the sub-microsecond.
