Abstract :
This paper describes the implementation of the course “Developing Applications for the Cloud” in the context of a complementary university degree in “Virtualization and Cloud Computing” taught at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The subject, whose contents have been designed following the ACM/IEEE Computer Science Curricula 2013 (CS2013), has 6 ECTS credits and it is planned according to the guidelines of the EEES, where the process of teaching and learning are student-centered and they follow the guideline of “learning by doing”. To achieve this, the students use virtual laboratories built with cloud services provided by public providers from the first day.
