Abstract
The analytical MOSFET models used in SPICE circuit simulation are the key “communication vehicle” between a circuit designer and the fabrication facility; unfortunately, they are often a source of great misery to the designer. This workshop will examine the SPICE MOSFET models from the perspective of the circuit designer. Consideration of the basics of analytical MOS modeling will be followed by a detailed discussion of the various MOSFET models used in SPICE, along with an examination of other issues such as gate capacitance and statistical simulations. Submicron and analog design aspects will be emphasized throughout
