Abstract :
Nonradiative transitions were studied using photoacoustic spectroscopy in samples of YAG doped with chromium. Two theoretical models of energy coordination diagrams for YAG:Cr3+ and YAG:Cr4+ crystals were considered and two experimental cases corresponding to the annealed in hydrogen (Cr3+) and in oxygen (Cr4+) samples were examined. For the strongly luminescent sample YAG:Cr3+ the correction to PA signal due to the PA cell walls excitation must be taken into account
