Abstract
In this paper the problem of current control in high power converters using low frequency, precalculated switching patterns is addressed. To overcome the problem of switching harmonics feeding through the current controllers a harmonic prediction and compensation method is devised. The good performance of the method is tested extensively through simulation of an three level PWM rectifier modulated with a five angles selective harmonic elimination, resulting in 250 Hz switching frequency. Finally, preliminary experimental results, controlling current in a passive R-L load are provides to confirm the implementation feasibility of the proposed technique
